If the check box is selected, the mirror port is taken out of normal frame switching. Otherwise communication via the mirror port is unrestricted.” For my Siemens folks Paul Nuss Bryan Moorman Laurent Chalifoux Caleb Eastman or others, do you have a practical application example of when you would ever want to disable this? All I can come up with is if you have only a single port open over which to connect to enable port mirroring and therefore you need that same port when done to disable it. Has anyone seen this feature on any other switch platform’s port mirroring? On most (but not all), the span destination port does NOT allow traffic back in. I say not all because we have seen ones that do. Waterfall even made a product for this (second pic) BUT this behavior in my experience has always been one way or the other, not configurable.
